THE NEXT BOYBAND STARS.. STARTING THE JOURNEY...

Just 2 days ago.. a friend of mine introduced a new track to me.. saying that the boy band will be the next band to hit the limelight, for sure. (Hey.. thanks Arjuna!!) Well.. the track is “Karma” by NLT.. Not Like Them.. Cool name ha? Well.. Watch the track in U Tube.. I promise that you’ll totally fall in love with the track.. With the “beat” to be more specific.. The track was produced by Timbaland of cause.. so.. no doubts there about how magnificent the beat is, right? These guys are new to the scene and after listening to a few more tracks.. what I can say is.. wow.. the sun won’t ever shine again if they’ll never be able to hit the music scene in big time..

Here’s some background info about these guys, to help yourselves with. Not Like Them is also the title of their debut album, under the record label TUG Entertainment/Geffen.The genre is more likely pop and R&B. NLT worked with labelmates Omarion and Marques Houston on the album too. The album featured production by The Underdogs, Marques Houston, Troy "Treezah" Johnson, Timbaland (Woooow!!) and King Logan. It's suggested that the album will mark a new beginning in teen pop music, which is in hiatus since the early 2000s. It was due to release in February 2008; but it was pushed back due to majority of the tracks being leaked. Here comes the track list in the album. You might wanna surf a bit and listen to some of them, before you start to go crazy over their tracks.

"That Girl" (Produced by The Underdogs)/"Yesterday" (produced by The Underdogs)/"Go" (Produced by Timbaland) / "Rose" (produced by The Underdogs)/"I Choose U" (Produced by The Underdogs)/"Do It Like I Love It" (Featuring Fabo of D4L) (Produced by The Underdogs)/"Angel" (Produced by Pharrell)/"She Said,I Said(Time We Let Go)"(Produced by Timbaland)/"Hollywood"(Produced by Timbaland)/"So Sensational"/"Superstar"/"Heart Attack"(Produced by Timbaland)/"Karma"(Produced by Timbaland)/"Like Dat" Ft. Timbaland/"Jump Jump"(Produced by The Underdogs)/"It's On"/"Heartburn"
Guys.. Check out the lyrics.. Here comes."Karma" by NLT...

It's a shame
You see that I'm hurtin and you don't know what you did
You probably don't even care to know what it is
You promised that you were down and you were my best friend
Was it all for nothing?
BRIDGE
How could you go, right when I needed you?

You never showed, the love that I'm always showing to you
Now you know, that I'm gonna leave you
You're tellin me no, cause it's gonna hurt you
Feeling so cold
CHORUS
I wanted to know you - But karma's a trip now
You probably shouldn't have left me standing alone
I wanted to love you - But karma's a trip now
You probably should turn around and take yourself home
Karma, karma - It's just karma, karma
It's just karma's a trip
You're the flame - I keep running back to you (back to you)
I feel the pain - I keep running to you thinking something go change
But no that the story (is over)
I’m turning the page baby your history
BRIDGE
CHORUS
It's just karma, karma - It's just karma's a trip
What goes around comes around
Not with me and you (me and you and you)
The table have been turn around
And now I’m letting you go (gooo)
CHORUS
It's just karma, karma - It's just karma's a trip
CHORUS
It's just karma, karma - It's just karma's a trip

AURUDU AT HOME....

Kiri Ithiraweema... One out of the many traditions in the New Year...

TRADITIONS.. CUSTOMS AND NEW YEAR...

The Sinhala and Tamil New Year is over. Coming home from my uncle’s place after dinner, I couldn’t help thinking about this very thing about the whole New Year thing. How many of us still follow all the customs and traditions in the New Year? As I know.. most people buy all the types of oil cakes, so that they don’t have to spend time on making them. During ‘Nonagathaya’ you’re not suppose to eat anything, as I know. But most of the people don’t follow them, do they?

At our home.. we follow all the traditions…and yes, we make all the new year food at home. I say.. will this day be any different than any other day if you don’t follow the traditions? New Year is the perfect time to be with your family.. and together you can clean the house.. make oil cakes.. play games.. etc..

Another thing I noted… People just buy Aurudu food from shops, so how will they know how to make them? Most people don’t. ‘Konda kevum’ is a very tasty type of Aurudu food. Through my lifetime.. I came across very few people who know to make them correctly. Buy it from a shop and that’s it.

Getting to the point.. what I was thinking is.. traditions and customs.. they pass from generation to generation. We follow our elders and what our kids will inherit are the things they see us doing. What if we neglect these traditions and customs? Simply.. they won’t have anything to pass to their younger generations. It made me sad to think about the whole thing… Just wanted to share it with you all.

PS : The picture is actually…. ‘Konda kevum’.. not bought from anywhere. Home made…
